About Tree Frog Treks

Tree Frog Treks is a leading nature and science education organization in San Francisco, famous for its “Wild Science” approach. For over 25 years, they have been getting kids out of the classroom and into the dirt to explore the natural world. Their programs are centered around hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and face-to-face encounters with a unique collection of rescued reptiles and amphibians, known as their “Animal Ambassadors.”

Services & Programs

Summer Camps: Award-winning outdoor camps held at multiple San Francisco parks (Golden Gate Park, Holly Park, McLaren Park, and more).

Littles (Ages 4–5): Half-day and full-day options focusing on sensory nature play.

Bigs (Grades 1–5): Full-day adventures including experiments, journaling, and animal time.

Teen Machine (Grades 6–9): Advanced treks and “Green Teen” environmental leadership programs.

Afterschool Enrichment: Science-based programs held at various SFUSD schools and local community hubs, including J Serra Annex and Dolores Huerta.

School Break & Mini Camps: Specialized camps during winter, spring, and individual school holidays to keep kids active when school is out.
Animal Care Apprenticeship: A unique opportunity for older students to learn the responsibilities of caring for rescued reptiles and amphibians.

 In-School Presentations: Bringing “Wild Science” directly to the classroom with live animal visits and interactive experiments.

Community Events: Frequent appearances at local SFPL branches and neighborhood festivals like the Bernal Heights Earth Day Stroll.
