Speckle Studio (formerly Pinckney Clay) is a vibrant, women-owned community pottery and art sanctuary located in the heart of Bernal Heights. Founded by artist Holly Coley, the studio is dedicated to celebrating imperfection, the joy of making, and the creative “speckles” that make each artist unique. The space serves as both an educational hub and a retail gallery showcasing local makers.

Pottery Classes: 4-week and 6-week courses covering wheel throwing (Beginner to Next Steps) and hand-building.

Studio Memberships: Monthly memberships include private shelf storage, access to 18 wheels, slab rollers, and member-only workshops.

Youth Programming: Summer camps and upcoming after-school programs for kids and teens focusing on clay and 2D art.

Retail Shop (New Classic): A curated gallery featuring ceramic art and supplies from 10+ local Bay Area artists.

Private Events: Customizable bookings for team-building, birthday parties, and private lessons.

The Team

Led by founder Holly Coley, a Bay Area teaching artist with an SFAI background, the studio features a diverse team of professional instructors, including Alex Beck (ABC Ceramics), Paul Fresia (hand-building specialist), and Yuki Watanabe.
