Ogden Avenue Gardens – Neighbors coming together to create a beautiful and welcoming space.

A COMMUNITY PROJECT BERNAL HEIGHTS, SAN FRANCISCO

We are neighbors working to transform a neglected and weed-strewn street into a children’s playground, a community gathering place, and a safe and comfortable place to wait for the bus.

The 400 block of Ogden Avenue (between Folsom and Gates) is an “unaccepted” street, meaning the city does not maintain it. It has no sidewalk. Yet, it is a much-traveled pathway to the bus stop for local parents walking their toddlers to Ana’s Childcare and neighbors walking their dogs.

Managed by: Sustainable CE

  • Mission Statement – We engage the built environment and communities through “green” design, project management, and civil engineering services that meet sustainability objectives. Our goal is to provide professional services that consider a construction project’s environmental, social, and economic impacts from concept through the end of its lifecycle.
  • Vision Statement – We are passionate about the world we will teach our children. But, also believe unequivocally in the power of individuals and communities to change the world, which starts with our environment and how to heal it and positively impact it.

Fiscal Sponsor: Greening Projects:

  • Greening projects is a non-profit 501(c)(3), TIN 92-0613879 – We are dedicated professionals who provide technical, consulting, and other support services to create green, sustainable spaces within our urban environment.
  • Services – Greening Projects is unique in that we provide support from the earliest conceptual stages, in other words, when a community leader or group identifies an opportunity to create a green and sustainable space and continues our support until the project is finalized.
  • Projects – Our community projects recruit, educate, and train resident volunteers to act as stewards of public green spaces throughout San Francisco. We can support these projects because we have the technical, design, managerial, and permit processing expertise within our agency.
